The purpose of this forum is to share interesting cases with other health care professionals who are involved in the care of neonates. In order to be able to publish cases on a monthly basis, we would like to ask neonatologists and obstetricians to share their experience with other colleagues and submit cases of their own.

To encourage and support young physicians, the Board of the Swiss Society of Neonatology had decided in 2002 to set up an award program. The program started on July 1, 2002 and has now completed its sixth year. We are pleased for announce that a special unrestricted grant by Nycomed allows us to extend the program for another 12 months (from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009).

As of January 1, 2008, each published contribution will be rewarded with CHF 500.-. The cases will be selected by the webmaster and two editorial board members.
