Based on the program for postgraduate training in neonatology (Weiterbildungsprogramm) which became effective on July 1, 2001, passing an oral examination will be mandatory to obtain the subspecialty title in neonatology (Schwerpunkt Neonatologie) for candidates who have not completed their subspecialty training by December 31, 1999. It is recommended to take the examination no earlier than in the last year of subspecialty training.

2013 subspecialty examination in neonatology:

Date of examination: September 18 and 19, 2013
Second session (if required): November 13 and 14, 2013

Examination site: Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (NeoIPS), Kinderspital Luzern (Dr. med. Martin Stocker)
 
Application deadline: June 27, 2013

Examination fee: SFr. 1000.- (payment slips can be obtained from Dr. med. Andreas Malzacher, treasurer of the Swiss Socity of Neonatology)
